“Life Lines” youth perform at Waterfront Festival

High school interns and other youth leaders from “Life Lines” Community Arts Project Performing Arts Troupe participated in the annual Waterfront Festival, held on a brilliant afternoon on September 16 at Pier 63 in Sunset Park.

The Troupe performed three pieces – Heat of Sunset Park, their signature song, a Spanish dance, and a Hawaiian dance – before an enthusiastic audience.  Other activities for youngsters and their families included face painting, creating sidewalk art with chalk, and group games.

The eighth annual Waterfront Festival, hosted by Community Board 7, celebrated plans for the new Sunset Park High School and a proposed waterfront park. The event was well-attended and included visits by our elected officials and community representatives. Youth received a lot of positive feedback from the community.
